Hi Guys, I am building this hebmuller using the bestmodelcarparts resin trans kit with a tamiya beetle. My plan is to go mostly stock but lowered a lot. So far I have cut apart the front suspension so itnow has working front suspension. The rear also works but not as well as the front. The trans kit is very nicely done too and includes up and down tops plus all the heb specific parts.
I still have to do a little weathering and wiring on the engine, and I will have to add a strip of plastic under the rear seat as it sits a little low at the back so that the engine is hitting the hood stopping it from closing properly. I think a 1 or 2 mm strip will fix that though

Very interesting project ! I love the Hebmullers with their very particular design.
The Bestmodelcarparts models are very nice kits. I have their split-window Beetle (not built yet) & it is a very good transkit indeed.

Well I got her finished yesterday. All the pe parts are from highlight model studio and the fenders skirts are from c1. The paint is duplicolour pearl blue over white primer with cream sides. I had a lot of trouble getting paint to stick to the heb dash so I ended up using the tamiya dash instead. I also used the tamiya chrome parts as I like a bit of bling on my bugs and a heb suits the chrome. I made the suit cases myself just to add something to the interior. You'll notice 2 different steering wheels as the clamp slipped when i was doing the glass and destroyed the first one so I changed it for the slotted 3 spoke instead of the wire spoked version.
The last pic is the destroyed steering wheel

Thanks guys, the fender skirts were made for the c1 resin van which has longer fenders. I wasn't sure if i could bend them safely so I enlarged the wheelwells instead but they were still too long
